When do vanessa and nate break up

Whether it's family, friends, or lovers, viewers can always find an interesting couple to follow throughout the show. However, some of the reasons behind the breakups can be ridiculous. In the world of money, attention, and drama, maybe the breakups make sense for the show, but viewers cannot help but question the motives behind some of the reasons why the couples split.

While the show thrives off the drama and exciting relationships, sometimes the reasoning for the breakups are simply just not logical, or there could have been a little more effort to save it. Eric had his fair share of relationships. Although his relationship ended with Jonathan cheating on him, they got back together, but then Jonathan broke up with Eric because he told him that he changed. Fans did not think Jonathan had the right to say Eric changed while Jonathan was the one who cheated.

While the first round of breakups was logical, Jonathan's reason did not make sense to some viewers. A lot of fans were rooting for this couple, but it didn't last. Nate and Blair broke up after Nate cheated on her with Serena. However, the two got back together in season 2 for a while. Fans were not impressed by their relationship and were not shocked when they broke up again. While the breakup was understandable, the reasoning behind it all seemed forced. Blair thought the relationship with Nate was like being with a high school boyfriend, and the two quickly broke up and remained good friends.

When it's time for the real test, he brings her to the center and convinces her to test to give her more options for the future All About My Brother.

When Georgina Sparks returns to town and begins to blackmail Serena, Nate is able to give Vanessa her real story before she can continue being duped into believing Georgina is really a girl named Sarah Woman on the Verge.

He brings her to Bart Bass and Lily van der Woodsen 's wedding in the finale Much 'I Do' About Nothing , but they break up soon after because he didn't have time for a girlfriend and it just didn't work out. Once Nate returns to Manhattan, he begins to hang out with Vanessa again.

However, his affair with Catherine Beaton gets in the way of their budding relationship. At a party at Blair Waldorf 's penthouse, he tells Vanessa that he is going to end things with Catherine to be with her. Before he can, Catherine confronts Vanessa about dating Nate and blackmails her with revealing Howard Archibald 's location if Nate leaves her. She tells Blair, but after she mistakingly assumes that Blair isn't dealing with it, she tells Catherine's husband.

However, she soon learns that was a mistake because Blair was able to convince Catherine and Marcus to leave town and pay of the Archibald debt. She tells Nate, who is more disappointed that Vanessa went to Blair instead of him. Jealous, she steals the letter before Jenny can see it.

She creates a see through dress for Vanessa, and they plan to shine a bright light on her at the ball to reveal her underwear. However, Vanessa feels guilty for stealing the letter after talking to Jenny and plans to tell Nate at the ball. Before she can, the girls spotlight her and humiliate her in front of everyone.

She leaves the ball, but is followed by Nate, who reveals that even though she stole the letter he wants to be with her. Is anyone else still kind of bitter that Rufus and Lily didn't end up together? They were basically an adult version of Dan and Serena minus the creepy finale , but there was a real spark between them, even though Lily's preference for douchey millionaires was always going to make it impossible for her to choose Rufus in the end.

By the time the pair's long-lost secret love child returned from the dead in season three, it really felt like the writers had no idea what to do with them any more. So Lily ended up with William Baldwin, and Rufus ended up with singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb, and nobody lived happily ever after.

Given the way we were introduced to this couple — with Nate having just cheated on Blair with Serena — it was always going to be tough for them to recover, especially because neither of them really seemed all that into the other.

When you get together in junior high, chances are you're going to grow out of each other before you graduate high school. Even when Nair Blate? Their friendship remained cute and consistent long after their romance ended, though, which earns them a respectable seventh spot.

Okay, admittedly our view of Carter Baizen might be skewed by Sebastian Stan's role in the Captain America movies, because it's hard not to ship anybody with Bucky Barnes. Serena and Carter were never going to be a long-term thing, what with him being kind of a shady drifter and her having at least vague aspirations to do something with her life, but they were hella fun together and Stan had more chemistry with Blake Lively than almost any of Serena's other beaus.

Had the finale ended with Carter rocking up to whisk Serena away from her ill-advised wedding, The Graduate style, we would have been more than okay with that. From the moment Vanessa showed up in Brooklyn wearing her unresolved feelings for long-time BFF Dan on her sleeve, it was clear they were going to hook up eventually.

What was surprising was just how well they worked together as a couple, once that threesome with Hilary Duff forced them both to acknowledge the obvious. Basically every single good thing that ever happened in Dan's career was because of Vanessa, and she was the only person who could relate to him creatively — even though she was by all accounts a way better writer.

Dan was so terrible by the show's end that it was hard to ship him with anyone other than loneliness, but had Vanessa still been around she might have smacked some sense into him. In Season 1 Nate and Vanessa begin a friendship which eventually turns into a somewhat relationship after they kiss.

But, Nate later breaks up with Vanessa because he feels that he doesn't have time for a girlfriend because of everything going on in his life. Also, he faces problems between Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa, Nate and Vanessa decide to go on a trip together.

Nate decides to take the internship, which results in Nate and Vanessa breaking up. Vanessa reveals that Nate and her hooked up one night in Europe but that they decided to only be friends.
